The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Mora County in northeastern New Mexico...
  Northwestern San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 1000 PM MDT.

* At 758 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
  0.25 to 0.75 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25
  to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
  already occurring. Additional showers and thunderstorms are
  expected over the next 2 hours which will limit runoff and allow
  for flooding to persist.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Sapello, Tierra Monte, El Porvenir, Storrie Lake State Park,
  Ledoux, Gascon, Morphy Lake State Park, Manuelitas, Gallinas and
  South Carmen.

This includes the following highways...
State Road 518 between Mile Markers 3 and 17...and between Mile
Markers 30 and 31. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 349 and 361.
State Road 104 between Mile Markers 3 and 7.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
