The National Weather Service (NWS) is soliciting comments through June 6, 2025 to assess the discontinuation of the Max/Min Temperature and Precipitation Table Product (RTP) for the National Weather Service Honolulu Forecast Office (HFO). The proposed termination date for the RTP is on or before September 1, 2025. The Max/Min Temperature and Precipitation Table (RTP) is a text product that provides maximum and minimum temperatures and precipitation totals for the state of Hawai‘i. The information in the RTP duplicates information in other NWS text products, various websites, and NWS application programming interfaces (API). HFO local products providing the data contained in the RTP product include: - Public Information Statements (PNS) for summaries of temperatures and precipitation during significant weather events. - Local Storm Reports (LSR) for event-driven rainfall reports. - Record Event Reports (RER) for record event reporting. - Climate (CLI) Text Products for routine climate reports. - Daily Summary Messages (DSM) Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Text Products for daily summaries of temperature and precipitation from which the current RTP and CLI are constructed. - Hydrometeorological Data Report (RR3) for cooperative observations. - METAR Products (MTR) for routine METAR observations with temperature and precipitation data.
